Pumpkin season

It’s Autumn! All the colorful leaves. I love this season, it could be cold or warm, really depends on that year. (globalwarming)

Lots of pumpkins could be found in the supermarket or from the farms… How do you make your pumpkin? Soup is nice too, a pie, cake cookies or even a sauce? I find the simplest way to make them is either soup or roasting. Both are nice but the taste of burn and crust is more tempting.

This time I go for a soup, since the weather has became a bit cool.

I always wanted to tryout fresh garlic but never really push myself to do it. Therefore this time I needed to grab one. It’s really interesting and I kind of liking the skin which is still fresh, where you can peel it like a fruit. I left the garlic in their inner skin and steamed them. After that they got squashed and mixed with the Japanese may. No seasoning is needed, cause less is better. Whether roasting or steaming both ways are good.

Choose the one you like and explore.

I added potatoes and carrots in the pumpkin soup where you can still have some little pieces to bite. What do yo you put in your pumpkin soup?

My Autumn stars were: pumpkin soup with potatoes and carrots topping up with caramelized red onions, pumpkin bread from the bakery with the steamed garlic mayo. Bon appétit!
