A meeting you did not expect

A few weeks ago I met a female elderly on my mission and we happened to be in the same group. After our shift we walked together to the train station and then it was that moment where I realized I was so blessed to had the chance working with her.

Her daughter passed away last year and she wanted to do something to keep herself moving. Thousand of needles stabbed into my heart and I looked at her, a tiny woman with grey hair trying to survive by not wasting her life even with such pain. I walked next to her and all I could do was embracing her like my mum. I tucked my arm into hers’ and placed my head on her shoulder like a little girl.

I am so thankful for this path, the people I have met on my mission and every meeting is so priceless in it’s way where you don’t want to miss out.

That’s why don’t ever give up, it’s always worth for fighting.

Back to my food, I have chosen to post this food as it’s simple and easy but the flavor wasn’t that simple at all. Surprisingly, it’s fresh and totally got me smiling. Sweet, sour and salty…three flavors at once. It didn’t take much to show love. Frankly speaking, I am always so impressed how little it needs and takes. Mostly it proved that daikon pickles indeed goes well with everything and there is room for fusion too. I need to make more daikon pickles.

My sweet stars were: leftover polenta, pickles daikon and swiss sausage
