Out of your comfort zone

Years ago when I could try taro abacus seeds in Kuala Lumpur, the flavour stays in my mind ever since. I love taro very much…well I like all yam and root types anyway.

Therefore this evening I made taro abacus seeds again and this time I wanted to make them in a different way. Simmered in fish fond, it gave them a very refreshing taste. Never thought it would come out this well.

Sometimes you need to step out of your comfort zone and tryout something new. I know it isn’t easy and that step may cause some worries too. As we don’t know how it would be and a change is always difficult. Whether it’s good or bad ….it will always make us wiser and we gain some experiences too. That’s why it is so important to take the risk and step out.

Cooking is the same too…we cannot always stay there where we are…we need to improve and practising again and again. Testing different flavours and not all meals came out well but it’s ok. No one said we should be perfect right.

my healthy stars were: taro abacus seed, gilthead sea brass, fish fond, nagaimo, coco beans, white beetroots, black and red rice
